On June 5, international day of environment protection at the Public chamber of the Russian Federation hosted a forum "let's Save the planet together".
Activists STOP the RELEASE! and movement Ekologika, together with activists of dozens of other groups from different cities of Russia took part in the meeting.
The participants of the forum could not address the issue of incinerators (IGC), the most pressing environmental issues of recent months. Key speakers from the scientific community at the plenary meeting, including academician Leopold Leontiev, as well as the Presidium of the forum spoke out unequivocally against the use of the proposed Corporation rostec technologies for the combustion of waste in Russia is as dangerous and costly.
One of the most acute discussions of the expected took place in the section "Socio-environmental conflicts". There was discussed the problem of trash collapse of the Moscow region and other regions. Coordinator Ecologici Anna Dmitriev presented a report on the causes of socio-environmental conflicts in Russia and the ways out of the crisis, in which he noted that the current difficult situation with wastes and emissions of companies has arisen due to the irresponsible attitude of big business to the organization of production in reducing the harmful effects on the environment and human health for decades.
The round table was organized by activists of Naro-Fominsk, Noginsk district, Kolomna (Moscow region), Tatarstan, Dagestan, Bashkortostan and other regions.
Interregional public movement "Ekologika" sent a series of concrete proposals for inclusion in the forum's resolution, in particular: to introduce a legislative ban on disposal of organics in landfills and combustion in incinerators; amendments to Federal law No. 503 mandatory separate collection and accumulation of wastes; to prohibit the construction of incineration technology at the official level has been deprecated in the European Union and the United States; to increase the fines for industrial enterprises for violations in the sphere of environmental legislation and to use these funds for implementation of modern technologies for purification and filtration of harmful emissions into the environment and to rehabilitate contaminated by this enterprise or subject areas. The final document summarizing the suggestions of the participants, should be soon submitted to the President of the Russian Federation.
Also at the meeting was accepted the decision on creation of coordination Council on ecology, which will operate on the basis of the Public chamber and submit their offers to implement the Strategy of ecological security management of the country.
