WATER-CHELYABINSK

WATER FOR CHELYABINSK, BUT NOT FOR MINING!

23 Jan 2020. during the meeting with the Head of the city N. P. Kotova, [id168068152|Elena Vakhtin] , [id225688750|Irina Gladysheva] and [id24725731|Andrey Kostenko] handed in a petition with a proposal to urgently initiate to the Governor and government of Chelyabinsk region to consider the threat to sustainable water supply in the city of Chelyabinsk and solutions.

"In accordance with our agreement dated January 16, 2020. in order to implement the national project "Ecology" and "Pure water", proposed to urgently initiate to the Governor and government of Chelyabinsk region to consider the threat to sustainable water supply in the city of Chelyabinsk and solutions.
The problematics of this issue is that currently, because of unnatural circumstances issued by JSC "GOK Tominskiy" permissions to extraction of water from the Miass river upstream of Sosnovsky intake MUP "POVV" put at risk the sustainability of the water supply for the whole of the Chelyabinsk industrial region (for production needs Tominsk GOK has allocated about 40 000 000 m3/year, despite the fact that at present the Chelyabinsk consumes 160 000 000 m3/year, the 4th largest industrial consumer (CMP, CTP, CHEMK and South-Ural Directorate for teplovodosnabzhenie together consumed from 01.01.2013 to 31.12.2013 total 8 459 444 m3 (see the Decision of the Chelyabinsk city Duma on 17.02.2015, No. 6/16))
However, it is noted that the draft master plan of Chelyabinsk 2019., the city's population by 2040, the ninth year may increase to 1 314 000 people (from the current 1 202 371 people) the norm of water consumption 500L/day/person, the necessary amount of water should be 239 805 000 m3/year. This amount of water presently there, the transfer of water from the river Ufa (via Dolgobrodsky channel) may not take place due to the fact that in the city of Ufa may experience problems with sustainable water supply of the population, possible shortage of water for residents of Ufa."

We put this question consistently and at all levels.
Officials with perseverance worthy of a better cause, ignore our appeals. Well, hope dies last, let's see if at least some response this time.
